Production - Technical Subcontractor
This is a Technical Subcontract Management (TSM) field support position providing onsite support at various Lockheed Martin (LM) major systems, airframe, and tooling suppliers located within a 50-mile radius of Wichita, KS. Depending on the candidate’s home location, the position may require substantial travel (driving) to and from suppliers. Approximately 90% of the TSM's time will be spent onsite at an LM supplier facility.
About the role
A TSM is a member of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team that LM Aeronautics uses to minimize disruptions to the supply chain by providing “in the field” oversight of supplier execution. The role involves collaborating across multiple functions—including production, procurement, quality, and engineering—both within LM and at supplier facilities to expedite parts and assemblies required to support LM Aeronautics Lines of Business (LOB).
Responsibilities
- Work with supplier personnel to prioritize components through manufacturing.
- Validate the status of deliverable parts and provide detailed status updates to LM procurement.
- Prepare plans to reduce or prevent shortages in the supply chain.
- Identify risks in the supply chain and develop risk mitigation plans to minimize potential impact to LM.
- Analyze supplier processes and develop improvement plans in collaboration with supplier and LM personnel.
- Regularly collaborate with production, procurement, quality, and engineering teams to support LM Aeronautics LOB needs.
Requirements
- Understanding of production processes related to aircraft systems components, avionics equipment, machined part fabrication, tooling fabrication, and lean manufacturing.
- Familiarity with legacy aircraft such as F-16 and C-130, as well as current platforms like the F-35.
- Background in manufacturing engineering.
- Ability to analyze supplier processes and develop improvement plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships quickly with multiple stakeholders.
- Must live within a 50-mile radius of Wichita, KS.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; sponsorship is not available at this time.

Schedule
