Production System Specialist- East Region
About the role
Sharp’s Production System Specialist develops and supports service partners within an assigned geographic area. The role monitors, investigates, and reports on the field performance of all assigned products, providing in-depth technical support and advanced troubleshooting for Sharp’s Production Systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support on Sharp Production Systems, demonstrating high-level skills in hardware, firmware, software, and network issue resolution.
- Use advanced troubleshooting tools and techniques to resolve escalated customer issues for business partners.
- Perform root cause analysis using critical thinking and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Conduct field support activities, including troubleshooting, repairing production products, and addressing high-level escalated hardware issues.
- Install and de-install devices, providing technical expertise both at Sharp and in the field to assist Sharp’s dealer network.
- Deliver urgent, high-visibility third-level technical support via on-site visits or phone to Sharp’s dealer network and authorized dealers.
- Troubleshoot electromechanical and connectivity-based issues, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions while meeting manufacturing and operational specifications.
- Document field activities thoroughly to facilitate cross-communication between management, sales, and domestic engineering groups.
- Share field best practices with authorized Sharp dealers.
- Manage assigned territory, assisting service business partners to meet industry performance standards and ensuring full technical and procedural support.
- Support Quality Assurance and Regional Management in setting up product monitoring programs and Technical Roundtable meetings.
- Conduct formal and informal service training classes to ensure technical competency of service partner personnel; monitor training quality and suggest improvements.
- Provide Technical Hotline, phone, fax, email, and remote support for other SIICA departments as requested.
- Collaborate with Sales to develop new and existing dealers, ensuring technical proficiency in hardware and software products to maximize sales potential and support capabilities.
- Support Business & Trade Shows, internal Sharp sales meetings, external road shows, and other events as required.
- Make on-the-spot decisions to maximize customer satisfaction within corporate guidelines.
- Assist in the development and training of Dealer Production Service personnel.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of industry production print experience is highly desirable.
- Associate’s degree in a technical subject or equivalent certification and/or business experience.
- Direct support experience with 6-color digital presses is a plus.
- Industry-recognized Net+ and MCP certifications.
- Industry-recognized MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, or MCSA certification is highly desirable.
- Highly developed communication and writing skills.
- Strong classroom and web-based teaching skills.
- Leadership aptitude and willingness to take on leadership roles.
- Up to 80% travel (average 75% of working days per year), including some weekend travel.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment or assist with pushing and positioning.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $87,400 - $124,600 USD, excluding bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation. The final salary will be determined based on experience, education, training, certification, and location. Eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, or program-specific awards may apply, subject to program rules.
