About the role
The Production Support Technician (ECC) provides support to the production group by setting up, troubleshooting, breakdown, repairing, and maintaining preheat and temporary utility equipment. This includes items such as strip heaters, temporary distribution panels, heater timer boxes, power supplies (weld machines), stud guns, ventilation blowers and hoses, lighting, electrical cords, and cables. ECC supports production trades by establishing critical needs for welders and other trades to work in their respective areas across the facility. Production Support Technicians are also responsible for monitoring heat and recording and maintaining those readings in a log book.
Qualified candidates must be mechanically inclined and have a working knowledge of electricity and of working safely with it. This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Responsibilities
- Set up, troubleshoot, break down, repair, and maintain preheat and temporary utility equipment
- Support production trades by addressing critical needs for welders and other trades
- Monitor heat and record/maintain readings in a log book
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to meet organizational goals
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Perform tasks at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperature conditions as required
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED, OR a minimum of 2 years related technical experience
- 1+ year of experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance
- Basic mechanical knowledge to support mechanical repairs
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Must possess own basic hand tools
- Must be available to work all shifts
Qualifications
Preferred
- 3+ years with electrical and mechanical diagnostic and repair experience
- Vocational, technical, or community college education, or completion of an apprentice program
- Familiarity with ATICTS, MRP II, SPARS, AT&A Timekeeping
- Journeyman electrical, pipefitting, or plumbing experience
- Military/Navy experience
