To enhance the correctional programs of the Commonwealth of Virginia by operating a viable business entity that provides jobs and work skills for sentenced offenders to help them successfully re-enter society, and offers quality goods and services to customers, on time and at a fair price.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of administrative support to the manufacturing, service, warehouse, and transportation departments.
- Coordinate purchasing, inventory control, data integrity (SyteLine), job order production, and reporting thoroughly and accurately.
Requirements
- Proficiency in computer keyboarding and MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Proficiency in planning, organizing, record-keeping, purchasing, problem-solving, and training.
- Ability to effectively manage time, maintain attention to detail, prioritize, and make decisions.
- Ability to work independently, resolve problems, and perform effectively in complex work situations involving multi-tasking and procedural requirements.
- Ability to work in environments where production, chemical, equipment, or other environmental risks may be present.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, listen effectively, and handle difficult situations.
- Prior experience in an office or manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in production planning or scheduling.
- Experience with an ERP/MRP system.
- Experience with evaluation of discrepancies and discernment of those that need to be addressed.
Pay
Hiring range: $38,206 - $57,311
Background and Drug Testing
- All applicants are subject to a background investigation, which may include fingerprint checks (State Police, FBI), local agency checks, employment verification, verification of education, credit checks, and other position-based checks.
- Applicants for designated safety-sensitive positions are subject to pre-employment drug screening. Marijuana use is prohibited for positions requiring possession of a firearm or Commercial Driver’s License.
Probationary period: 12 months for all new hires, transfers, and returning state employees.
