About the Role
The Production Team Leader oversees all aspects of textile and hard goods production, including meeting production quotas, researching items, assigning costs, training staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate policies involving production and shipping of textile products and hard goods.
- Train and develop processors to ensure exceptional donor service and adherence to Goodwill Dallas policies.
- Manage inventory, stock rotations, color rotations, and scheduled markdowns.
- Aid in employee performance reviews and address minor disciplinary issues.
- Ensure production quotas are met and maintain quality and quantity of textiles and hard goods produced.
- Research and assign appropriate costs based on incoming items.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Team Leader to meet monthly production quotas.
- Ensure compliance with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and follow public protection procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and training of hazmat materials.
- Assist with writing schedules and monitoring production department hours.
- Promote good housekeeping, security, and safety practices.
- Inspect equipment and report maintenance concerns.
- Update the production whiteboard daily.
- Communicate with other departments to ensure merchandise is placed on the sales floor promptly.
Qualifications/Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience.
- Previous retail and/or stock handling experience preferred.
- Experience working with people who have disabilities and/or previous Goodwill experience preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Ability to conduct online research.
Special Conditions of Employment
- Regular lifting and moving of up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Standing and sitting for long periods.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, dust, dirt, electricity, noise, fumes, and chemicals.
- No purchasing authority.
