Saint-Gobain is seeking a Production Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight of the assigned production crew, ensuring safe execution of company standards, quality, service, and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) objectives within the manufacturing department.

About the role

The Production Supervisor operates within established practices and precedents, collaborating daily with the Value Stream Manager and Plant Management staff. This second-level management role focuses on policy governance, employee training, and training development, requiring frequent interaction with Value Stream Managers and coordination with internal departments such as Purchasing, Production and Inventory Control, and Maintenance. Key responsibilities include supporting material ordering, maintenance scheduling, equipment repairs, and production planning. The role demands forward-thinking to adapt to changing business needs, with success measured by safety, quality, service, and cost performance.

The Supervisor conducts regular team meetings, ensures technical training and competency development, and collaborates with fellow Supervisors and production teams to coach, mentor, and improve operational efficiency. Compliance with governmental regulations and Saint-Gobain policies, along with meticulous documentation management, is essential. The role also involves directing crews to establish and maintain schedules, troubleshooting, and monitoring performance indicators like production, quality, and safety reports. Flexibility in adjusting hours, rotating shifts, or providing coverage is required to meet operational demands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee production crew to ensure adherence to Saint-Gobain standards, quality, service, and WCM objectives.
  • Collaborate with Value Stream Manager and Plant Management for daily performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Purchasing, Production and Inventory Control, Maintenance) to support material ordering, maintenance scheduling, and production planning.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and ensure technical training and competency development for facility personnel.
  • Coach, mentor, and support production teams in executing action plans to improve training effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental regulations and Saint-Gobain policies.
  • Manage documentation, timecards, and training SOPs with attention to detail.
  • Direct crews in establishing and maintaining schedules and priorities within established procedures and budgets.
  • Assist in non-routine troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Monitor performance indicators, including production, quality, and safety reports.
  • Adjust hours, rotate shifts, or provide coverage as needed to support operational requirements.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent; two-year technical degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of related work experience in production within a manufacturing environment; experience as a Production Supervisor and/or leading teams preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Proven computer skills (Excel and Word) and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organization and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Confidentiality is a must.
  • Experience with coated abrasives products, processes, and systems preferred.
  • Experience working within a union environment preferred.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to temperature changes, dust, odors, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical hazards. Required PPE includes safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and bump caps.

Pay

The national pay range for this position is $81,500 to $126,500 per year, with base pay varying based on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus, with a targeted bonus amount of 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) is $89,650 to $139,150.
