Night Shift: 4:30 PM to 3 AM

About the role

Leads team to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Responsible for fostering an environment that strives for Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Guide department staff to meet production goals.
  • Communicate department and staffing needs with Operations Manager.
  • Handle staffing and performance management.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain proper maintenance on equipment in assigned production area.
  • Identify and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee all training activities within the department.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
  • Support and help develop their team with professional development short and long-term goals.
  • Help company meet its Strategic, Quality, and Safety objectives.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and display a positive attitude and behavior consistent with the Steffes Code of Conduct and Core Values.
  • Perform work in compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) training and identified procedures/standard work.
  • Report any EHS incident or concern to your supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in job-specific training and complete work as indicated by standard work, processes, and/or procedures.
  • Notify supervisor immediately if work can’t be completed as required.
  • Demonstrate and support the Steffes Code of Conduct, Policies, and Procedures by using tact, sound judgment, and maintaining a professional attitude.
  • Strive to deliver the best quality in daily work and promote a positive image of Steffes and its products.
  • Be timely and punctual in attendance and follow all policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.).
  • Written and verbal communication, math, reading, and spelling skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, ERP, and Shop Floor Manager experience — or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

Functional & Cognitive Requirements

  • Walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree.
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
  • Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
  • Handling, feeling, and gripping for some activities.
  • Visual acuity to inspect work completed.
  • May be subject to internal and external environmental conditions.
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, and complete tasks independently.
  • Make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.
  • Communicate with visitors.
  • Complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
