Production Supervisor (Heat Treat) 2nd Shift

About the Role

OMG Inc. is a leading manufacturer of fastening products and technologies for the commercial roofing and construction industries worldwide. The Production Supervisor effectively directs the day-to-day activities of the Heat Treat department on the 2nd shift to meet production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement goals. This position demands strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to drive a team to meet performance targets. A strong understanding of production manufacturing and lean processes is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
• Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing, providing direction and support to CI Teams to exceed goals.
• Review production requirements and adjust work schedules to meet objectives.
• Develop new, and track existing, cost savings and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Effectively manage shift workers, including hiring, training, employee development, performance reviews, addressing disciplinary issues, and resolving employee problems.
• Develop the bench strength for our manufacturing teams.
• Communicate and implement company initiatives and policy.
• Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and work with Quality resources to address variations.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Develop metrics to improve daily and weekly efficiency, tracking performance through trending analyses.
• Conduct weekly team meetings to promote improvement opportunities.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
