Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of production workers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Proactively identify operational challenges and implement strategic solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Analyze production metrics and output in assigned areas, adjusting processes as necessary to meet or exceed established schedules and quality goals.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless operations and timely resolution of issues.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, including performance reports and compliance audits.
- Champion 5S standards and promote a safe working environment by conducting regular audits and training sessions for staff.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure team compliance with Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies, conducting training as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Proven track record of successfully leading diverse teams and managing complex operations with a high degree of autonomy.
- Authority in personnel decisions, including hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions, with a focus on developing talent within the team.
- Accreditation from a recognized technical school or skilled trades program, along with 3+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills
- Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, MS Office suite.
- Strong analytical skills with a high-level of attention to detail and business process.
- Strong skills in developing and presenting performance metrics reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with others.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
- Ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including preparing and presenting information.
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed as needed.
- WMS experience and knowledge preferred.
- ERP system knowledge (JD Edwards preferred).
