Production Supervisor

About the role

The Production Supervisor provides leadership across multiple production lines, driving performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role is responsible for actively managing daily operations while fostering a culture of employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement. Success is defined by the ability to develop high-performing teams, optimize production processes, and deliver sustainable operational results aligned with organizational goals. This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and partners cross-functionally with Quality, Sanitation, and Operations leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production line operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
• Maintain and enforce work procedures and employee safety programs
• Foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment across all functions
• Partner with Quality and Sanitation to ensure compliance with GMP and food safety standards
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide direction to production teams
• Coach, mentor, and develop production leads and frontline employees
• Manage labor, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient operations
• Monitor and manage work-in-process inventory through ERP systems
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including LEAN practices and efficiency gains
• Support capital projects and operational improvement efforts
• Ensure adherence to production standards, processes, and performance expectations

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and production workflows
• Knowledge of food safety standards (BRC, SQF preferred)
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Financial acumen with ability to understand cost drivers
• Experience with ERP and OEE systems preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing business needs
