Production Supervisor
As Saab continues to grow its state-of-the-art, advanced manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, IN, we are seeking a driven leader passionate about teamwork and creating value in our production operation to help build the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force new military trainer, the T-7A Red Hawk.
About the role
Work closely with the Production Manager and other Production Supervisors to accomplish the goals set for the production team and overall organization.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead daily air structure manufacturing operations.
- Clearly communicate and drive daily production goals.
- Report out on structural assembly operations.
- Ensure efficient daily operations of the advanced manufacturing operation.

- Mentor the team and provide training and coaching to improve performance.
- Drive employee accountability to established work processes and work rules.
- Empower work teams to align to production KPI’s and overall business goals.
- Facilitate the recruiting, selection, and training of new team members for their area.
- Monitor work quality to consistently deliver exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the company policies and local work rules, including safety, quality and FOD prevention.
- Adhere to the Saab 6S program and maintain a clean environment at all times.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with management, team members and support roles.
- Implement continuous improvement action plans.
- Oversee and approve work hours for production team on a daily and weekly basis.
- Other tasks as assigned by Manager.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Availability to work a flexible/extended schedule as needed to meet customer timelines.
Qualifications
- AS or BS degree in Operations Management, Advanced Manufacturing, Aeronautics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in advanced manufacturing is a plus.
- 5+ years of proven supervisory/people leadership experience.
- Experience within the aerospace industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) is required.
- Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment is desirable.
- Experience using MES and ERP systems.
- Proven ability to work effectively across departments and align on goals.
- Ability to lead by example, to build positive and productive work relationships.
- Experience driving performance and behavioral accountability within work team.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Pay
Compensation range: $80,900 - $101,000. The range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
