Responsibilities
- Keep employees safe by conducting regular safety inspections, responding to safety incidents, identifying and resolving safety hazards, and holding ALL employees accountable to safety procedures and behaving safely.
- Lead safety improvement initiatives on shift in assigned areas.
- Lead by example and set a high standard for safe and professional behavior.
- Oversee daily operation of assigned areas.
- Schedule production team members work assignments.
- Lead in-the-moment problem solving in the production environment allowing production team members to safely create the required amount of quality finished goods.
- Reconcile timecards daily and approve timecards and payroll weekly.
- Administer corrective actions, coach employees, and provide performance feedback.
- Administer annual performance reviews for production team members.
- Motivate, support, and provide guidance to production team members.
- Communicate regularly with management regarding problems or issues impacting safety, quality, and production.
- Evaluate machine readiness to ensure continuous and safe production and minimal downtime.
- Lead team to meet established safety, quality, production, service, and cost goals on shift.
- Develop standard operating procedures and policies that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Oversee and work with on-shift maintenance and tooling team members to ensure effective and efficient changeovers.
- Supervisors are required to spend 75% of their time on the production floor supporting employees and solving problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree and 2 to 3 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (Internal Candidates may waive the degree requirement based on performance and relevant experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Attention to detail and organization is a must.
- Strong creative, organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
