Duties And Responsibilities

  • Aid in production planning, customer service, inventory control, forecasting, warehousing, and transportation.
  • Direct the hiring, training, supervision, mentoring, and performance evaluations of operators.
  • Direct, coordinate, assign, monitor, and review the work of individuals engaged in production-related duties.
  • Understand customers' needs, service those needs, and maintain and develop positive business relationships with key personnel involved in or directly relevant to production.
  • Aid with vendor relationships (e.g., third-party logistics).
  • Collaborate with staff, other departments, senior management, and decision makers to share information, problem-solve, and clarify management objectives.
  • Aid in the sales and operations planning process including supply/demand forecasting, inventory management, and on-time delivery.
  • Develop annual plans with prioritization and resourcing.
  • Develop and/or participate in the development of the supply chain strategy for the organization.
  • Implement and adhere to transaction management best practices.
  • Identify and manage risk within the production.
  • Develop and/or participate in implementing new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning, and other optimizations to aid in growing the business.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures.
  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures for production operations.
  • Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems.
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports.
  • Required Skills And Experience

    • Knowledge of quality standards (such as ISO, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing) and quality control methodologies.
    • Two to five years related experience in a manufacturing setting, with recent supervisory experience.
