Production Supervisor

About the Role

ITW Deltar Fasteners is a division within the Automotive Segment, serving major OEMs and their tier suppliers with plastic fasteners. With locations in Frankfort, IL, Chippewa Falls, WI, and Troy, MI, the division drives profitability through innovative solutions, application engineering, and advanced manufacturing facilities in North America. The Night Shift Supervisor reports to the Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for supervising manufacturing employees, providing technical support, and ensuring a well-executed shift.

Responsibilities

• Direct staff for work assignments based on priority and lead by creating an engaged, positive environment on the Night Shift.
• Ensure Night Shift personnel execute their job responsibilities and hold employees accountable to ITW’s employee handbook and performance processes.
• Manage employee relations, complete annual performance evaluations, interview prospective hires, and lead onboarding and training initiatives.
• Maintain daily attendance records to ensure smooth payroll processing.
• Develop coverage plans with cell leaders and report absent employees to maximize machine uptime.
• Onboard new team members using work instructions, training presentations, and on-the-job training, including 30/60/90 day reviews.
• Ensure safe working conditions, enforce 5S activities, and promote team member development through training and improvement activities.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing bottlenecks and support the materials team with material central feed system alarms.
• Enforce material handling and inventory processes, and communicate shift reports to leadership, quality, and reliability teams.
• Conduct Gemba walks and daily shift crossover meetings with General Techs.
• Manage non-conforming product containment, traceability, and inventory status using the ERP system.
• Participate in root cause analysis for product quality issues and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Collect and report Manufacturing metrics and execute improvement plans.
• Ensure part quality through setup and processing parameters.
• Use tools such as personal computers, dial/digital calipers, gauges, hand tools, lift trucks, and overhead cranes.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience leading and holding team members accountable.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are a plus.
• Familiarity with the duties of a General Technician, Material Handler, and/or Mold Technician.
• Technical experience with plastic injection molding preferred, including hands-on experience with raw materials, mold set-up, and troubleshooting material central feed systems.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication to quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 55 lbs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong visual and reasoning abilities.
• Team player capable of relating to employees at all organizational levels.

Pay

$75,000–$95,000 annually.
