About the role
The Production Supervisor – Film will be the lead for their designated shift. Providing direction and leadership to their team as necessary. As the Production Supervisor you will be expected to accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervises and directs operation to best meet production requirements.
- Responsible and accountable for the quality, efficiency, productivity and safety of the shift.
- Responsible and accountable for the overall productivity of the shift.
- Responsible and accountable to follow production schedule.
- Directly supervises the successful startup of first batches as necessary.
- Responsible and accountable for the enforcement of all company policies, SOPs, FDA regulations and cGMPs.
- Responsible and accountable for setting up the next shift to ensure a smooth shift change.
- Audits equipment cleaning and document in log books.
- Accurately audits completed batch records and makes necessary corrections.
- Recommends changes to batch records to reduce errors, improve efficiency, etc.
- Completes work orders as needed and records equipment problems which could not be corrected.
- Completes worker related accident forms.
- Performs and documents accident investigations as necessary.
- Records ideas for productivity improvements and other matters of importance and shares them with management as appropriate.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the department's paperwork including:
- Which batch records are required for each operation
- How each batch record must be filled out
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Operations Management, Engineering, etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years as a successful supervisor in a similar manufacturing environment.
- General Knowledge of the food manufacturing process.
- Basic math knowledge to include percent yields.
- Able to multi task and bring tasks to closure.
- Demonstrated mechanical skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail skills.
- Must be a “hands-on” “team-player” leader who leads by example. Demonstrated leadership skills.
