About the Role

The Production Supervisor oversees team members on the production lines, emphasizing teamwork, employee safety, product quality, and sanitation. This role supports the execution of the production plant by leading operational activities, ensuring tools, supplies, and equipment are available and properly utilized. You will act as the point person during your assigned shift, driving quality standards and continuous improvement to enhance production efficiency. Success in this role requires working effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, understanding internal and external business needs, and demonstrating professionalism and urgency. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. This position may require approximately 5% travel and work/maintenance coverage beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays. This role reports to the Operations Manager.

Available shifts:

  • Rotational Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM (eligible for overtime incentive)
  • Rotational Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (eligible for overtime incentive)

Responsibilities

  • Direct and guide operators/leads in executing production and/or logistics plans (receiving, processing, mixing, baking, packaging, shipping, etc.).
  • Manage shift change communication, daily production standards, and labor reconciliation.
  • Participate in developing and implementing plans and policies to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility.
  • Operate production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.
  • Ensure team development to meet targeted specifications for mixing, machining, and packaging to achieve total quality.
  • Develop leads on all line responsibilities and promote a positive attitude.
  • Problem-solve operational issues that negatively impact performance, following established escalation processes.
  • Ensure adherence to standard work processes, lean processes, 5S, SIC, DMS, DDS, and other operational frameworks.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulations, including:
    • Food safety (plant sanitation, allergen control, pest control, and guideline adherence).
    • Employee safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4–7 years of relevant experience.
  • Processing, packing, and mechanical experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with SAP (an asset).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and solve problems effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage people and work with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Availability for all shifts.
