Production Supervisor

About the Role

This position is responsible for monitoring and enforcing quality standards within an assigned area of a manufacturing plant, with a focus on production processes rather than a pure quality background. The role involves close collaboration with employees, union representatives, and management to uphold quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce quality standards in an assigned production area.
• Communicate department and plant quality metrics to stakeholders.
• Escalate issues to all levels of management following established guidelines.
• Implement and maintain systems to prevent recurrence of known issues using problem-solving processes.
• Leverage resources to resolve quality issues effectively.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees, union representatives, and management.
• Understand and consistently administer National and Local Agreements between the company and the United Auto Workers Union.
• Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health, safety, and housekeeping.
• Motivate, train, and develop employees using standardized methods, including Job Instruction Training (JIT).
• Make independent decisions with limited supervision.
• Apply knowledge of basic technology, manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and scheduling systems.
• Demonstrate high-level analytical ability to address complex problems.
• Utilize well-developed oral and written communication skills.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to motivate employees and drive work output.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Production background preferred; candidates with both production and quality experience are ideal but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience required; college degree preferred.
• Knowledge of the company’s Global Manufacturing System.
• Demonstrated technical and professional skills in the job-related area.
