About the role

Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving passenger vehicle and commercial truck markets, Dana provides original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Directs and coordinates activities on shift to meet production goals.
  • Oversees all items associated with the quality system (e.g., polar charts, SPC, conformance to prints).
  • Recommends and implements continuous improvements to the production process.
  • Assists in customer problem response and resolution.
  • Maintains acceptable customer quality standards; takes necessary corrective action to improve quality of production.
  • Reports, monitors, and addresses employee work performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining high standards for safety, housekeeping, and general maintenance.
  • Monitors employee attendance, maintains time-off calendars, reviews and approves employee time sheets, and initiates employee status transactions in E-time as needed.
  • Conducts employee performance appraisals.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred.
  • Computer proficiency in a Windows-based environment utilizing Microsoft Office.
  • Strong focus on improving efficiencies.
  • Focus on quality and safety.
  • Team management and coaching experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Prior experience supervising in a union environment.
  • Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Kanban.
  • Ability to lead projects.
