About the role
Supervisor is responsible for directing all day-to-day shift activities within their departments in a 24/7 multi-cultural, non-union operation. The role involves managing continuous improvement projects, R&D for new product developments, CAPA (corrective action and preventive action), new hire development, associate accountability, performance reviews, audit documentation, adherence to policies and procedures, accident reports, and operational efficiencies. The Supervisor also coordinates production, ensures machines are properly repaired and running efficiently, and maintains a motivated workforce.
Responsibilities
- Identify associate and food safety concerns and initiate internal CAPA.
- Coach and mentor department leads to become supervisors.
- Conduct accident and incident reporting investigations.
- Identify quality issues and initiate external CAPA.
- Create weekly staffing requirements based on the planning schedule.
- Communicate updates to department leads on a daily basis.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Hold associates accountable for performance and development.
- Support R&D for new product development.
- Oversee quality assurance (QA) processes.
- Maintain accurate department inventory.
- Provide proper documentation and validate employee work documents.
- Develop new hires and support their integration.
- Close batch orders and investigate any pending issues.
- Manage shift changes efficiently.
- Provide support to other departments to achieve GNC priorities.
- Own all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) within areas of responsibility.
- Monitor and improve operating efficiencies.
