Production Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead production staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Ensure production processes run efficiently and meet daily output targets.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to support production flow and resolve issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to ensure material availability.
  • Address production issues proactively to minimize downtime.
  • Analyze production losses and implement corrective actions on an ongoing basis (hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly).
  • Provide clear daily direction and performance expectations to team members.
  • Spend the majority of time (approximately 85%) on the production floor supporting employees and operations.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities (approximately 15% of time), including time approvals, performance evaluations, and action plan updates.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a wood manufacturing environment, including exposure to elevated noise levels, sawdust, and machinery.
