Responsibilities
- Partner with the facility leadership team in building and maintaining a strong safety culture with the intent of reaching a zero incidents state.
- Adapt and promote lean manufacturing principles.
- Actively participate in the Elimination of Waste program.
- Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives, including reporting monthly progress.
- Keep production areas in ideal state to meet and or exceed 5S standards.
- Assign work responsibilities to employees and build team member capability.
- Create a conducive work environment for employees to complete their assigned responsibilities/tasks.
- Maintain and enforce required safety standards on the plant floor.
- Ensure that production requirements are satisfied.
- Ensure that Company policies and procedures and the collective agreement are adhered to by employees.
- Use strong Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis to take corrective actions.
- Execute administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents (e.g., timekeeping, production reporting).
- Authorized to make decisions concerning quality issues.
- Develop and implement effective training programs for new team members and recurring training for previously qualified personnel consistent with departmental objectives.
- Assist with on-going cycle counting inventory of supplier products and finished goods materials.
- Maintain production equipment and machinery in proper operating condition through utilization of the Maintenance and Tooling departments.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
- 5 plus years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with strong preference given to automotive experience.
- Experience managing people is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with the workforce, its suppliers, and customers.
- Must be able to read a blueprint.
- Must be familiar with using a CMM.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in the use of Kronos or a similar timekeeping system.
- Must be willing to work any shift and periodic weekend overtime.
- Must have a positive, proactive, and problem-solving attitude.

Work Environment
This role is an on-site role in a heavy manufacturing facility which requires being comfortable working with the accompanying environmental factors such as high noise levels, safety hazards, and chemicals.
