Production Supervisor, Assembly

Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing small work teams in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring team safety, building teams, and training/allocating manpower
• Driving and implementing continuous improvement solutions to improve product quality and reach throughput and cost targets
• Ensuring team morale
• Coordinating all activities to achieve business metrics and implementing Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) processes and initiatives, including:
  • Ensuring the production plan is met, analyzing issues with other roles, and driving continuous improvement activities
  • Maintaining a safe workplace, leading the team to improve safety, and enforcing mandated safety tools and procedures
  • Understanding losses during the shift and using the C-Matrix to coordinate SIS activities and improve zone performance
  • Proactively analyzing quality KPIs, prioritizing quality issues, and guiding Team Leaders
  • Allocating people on the line, managing absenteeism, and training/building teams
  • Mobilizing support groups and resources to assist in problem-solving activities
  • Leading kaizen project activities focused on safety, cost, quality, throughput improvements, and waste reduction

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
• Excellent organization, written, and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees
• Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Goal-oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
• Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
• At least 2 years of experience in supervision in a high-volume environment
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members
• Previous experience working in a union environment
• Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
