About the role
We are seeking a Production Supervisor for 3rd Shift at our Switching and Fusing location in Leeds, AL. This role oversees the production process in a manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining safety protocols and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment; conduct safety training as needed.
- Manage and supervise a team of production workers, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training and development opportunities.
- Work with production planners to organize workflow, establish priorities, and ensure production schedules are met.
- Monitor the production process to ensure products meet quality standards and address any issues that arise.
- Ensure raw materials and supplies are available for production and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment is in good working condition and arrange for repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Identify areas for improvement in the production process and implement changes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, including output, downtime, and quality issues, and prepare reports for management.
- Quickly identify and resolve production issues related to machinery, staffing, or supply chain problems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, including motivating, coaching, and developing employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess situations, identify problems, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP preferred.
