Production Supervisor 2nd shift

The production supervisor is responsible for ensuring all manufacturing work and activities are completed safely and productively, implementing Continuous Improvement measures to reach company goals, and meeting the expectations of internal and external customers. The supervisor coaches and encourages employees to perform at their best while striving for team success. The role involves supervising hourly plant production laborers (excluding maintenance, QA, and shipping staff) to meet company production targets: ship-on-time, efficiency, cost of quality, and health & safety. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all manufacturing hourly employees to ensure production schedules are met and company targets are achieved in on-time shipping, efficiency, quality, health and safety, and housekeeping (including 5S).
• Ensure the health and safety of all employees, including proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations of hourly staff.
• Provide and ensure proper training for employees.
• Communicate and coordinate production with other shifts.
• Monitor and report equipment issues to maintenance to ensure machines are safe.
• Monitor and control attendance, conduct, and attitude; provide feedback, support, and guidance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety guidelines.
• Address performance issues, safety violations, quality standards, efficiency, behavior, attendance, or conflicts with employees; administer verbal or written warnings and suspensions as needed.
• Monitor material levels on the production floor in coordination with the warehouse supervisor to maintain continuous production flow.
• Coordinate or lead continuous cost savings and improvement projects.
• Encourage employee involvement in continuous improvement and health & safety projects.
• Provide coaching and ensure sufficient training for employees to perform jobs safely and efficiently.
• Conduct new employee training reviews with team leaders and the training coordinator.
• Forward recommendations for new or additional training to the training coordinator.
• Keep employees informed of metric status and facilitate daily team lead "stand-up" meetings.
• Ensure effective communication between shifts, supervisors, team leaders, and plant managers.
• Report production issues and worker concerns to HR and plant managers.
• Attend management team meetings and report key discussions and outcomes.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in manufacturing (preferred bachelor’s in business or manufacturing).
• 6+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, leadership, and supervision.
• Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook (intermediate level minimum).
• Knowledge of plant equipment and processes.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and employment laws.
• Familiarity with key safety protocols, lockout/tagout, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Good organizational and project management skills.

Pay

Competitive salary range: $57,224–$82,259.
