This is an entry training level for a supervisory role. The position is a working level and typically reports into a first-level manager. Provides leadership to employees performing routine work within a single function or work group, following established professional standards and practices to meet unit goals.

Responsibilities

  • Receives daily production schedules from planning and materials from logistics to manufacture, modify, or repair products.
  • Coordinates resources (materials, personnel, equipment) to achieve on-time production of quality products within budget guidelines.
  • Identifies and resolves bottlenecks in the production process.
  • Manages controllable operating expenditures such as scrap and consumables.
  • Guides teams to continuously improve processes and identifies production limits.
  • Ensures timely, consistent, and professional conduct of return-to-work interviews and first-level disciplinary hearings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the production process, tools, and equipment used.
  • Understanding of the business unit and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery, and profitability (WOR/MOR/RCCP).
  • Ability to coordinate resources to meet production quality and quantity metrics.
  • Knowledge of ISO Standards and Company Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to lead, manage, train, and motivate a diverse team in a dynamic manufacturing environment with tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in PC applications such as Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Four to six years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

  • Performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, and temperature extremes.
  • May require sustained visual concentration on computer monitors or detailed data.
  • Carried out within local Health and Safety guidelines.
