Production Supervisor, 1st Shift

About the role
The 1st shift Production Supervisor will coordinate and provide direction for the workflow and scheduling functions of a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing facility. This position manages production personnel and executes production for multiple departments in a collaborative environment. You will work with other team members to resolve production issues, employee relations, and concerns.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safety culture and awareness within the area, setting a leading example by supporting and adhering to all plant safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all tasks are performed using proper SOPs, GMPs, safety procedures, and other regulations.
- Ensure Pre-Operation Inspections are performed before starting the shift or work orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory by following SOPs.
- Keep accurate records of daily receipts, inspection results, and other relevant information.
- Direct others to meet production schedules and goals.
- Monitor and update Workday timekeeping, including approving time each week.
- Review daily paperwork.
- Lead, coach, train, direct, and discipline employees.
- Partner with multiple departments to execute department orders and meet goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of leadership background OR High School degree with 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, or a related field.
- Candidates in the rotational Land O'Lakes programs (TAP/MMT/DMT) will be considered in lieu of experience.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow.
- Strong demonstrated computer skills.
- Ability to coordinate, provide direction, influence, and coach staff.
- Ability to work with management to reach and maintain production schedules and goals.
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills.
- Strong understanding of food safety and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure without supervision.
- Willingness to help the production team by filling in on the line when short-handed.
- Willingness to run production on Saturdays when needed.
Skills
- Communicator, decision-maker, quality orientation, technical/professional knowledge, customer focus, time management, and process improvement.
- SAP experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to other programs.
Schedule
1st shift: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and holidays. The plant operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week, with weekends as needed. This role will primarily be day shift, with flexibility to work other shifts as necessary to meet business needs.
Pay
Salary range: $70,800 – $106,200. In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of the salary range.
