Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production operations and ensure schedules are met safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements.
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve departmental goals and maximize team performance.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and company quality standards.
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications and food safety requirements.
- Manage labor allocation and staffing levels to support production demands while controlling costs.
- Monitor key performance indicators including yield, throughput, efficiency, labor utilization, attendance, and waste reduction.
- Conduct regular floor audits to ensure safety, quality, and operational compliance.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve performance.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Shipping, and Human Resources to support plant objectives.
- Maintain accurate production records, attendance records, and performance documentation.
- Participate in employee hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
- Promote a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement and accountability.
- Ensure proper sanitation and housekeeping standards are maintained throughout production areas.
- Communicate plant goals, expectations, and performance results to team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, food processing, poultry processing, or related production environments.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Food Science, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Experience working in poultry processing or protein manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs, and food safety programs.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
- Experience with ERP, MES, or production management systems.
