Production Specialist Wide Format Print/ Signage

About the role
This hands-on role owns daily production execution on the floor. You will manage the production job queue, operate multiple machines, and ensure jobs move efficiently with speed, quality, and minimal rework. The ideal candidate is fast, detail-oriented, technically minded, and highly independent, with a natural ability to anticipate the next move and keep output moving smoothly.
You will report to the Production Manager and collaborate laterally with the Operations/Project Coordinator. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in clean execution and a well-run production floor.
Responsibilities
- Production Execution
- Own daily output across active jobs on the production floor
- Run wide-format production work across signage, graphics, and architectural film/artwork projects
- Juggle multiple jobs, machines, and priorities efficiently, adapting when plans change
- Produce clean, accurate work without avoidable rework
- Equipment and Shop Flow
- Set up, operate, and maintain roll printers, flatbed printers, laminators, plotters, and CNC cutter/router equipment
- Monitor machine behavior and make smart adjustments to protect quality and throughput
- Complete daily cleaning and routine maintenance as part of normal production flow
- Keep the production space clean, organized, and ready to run
- Finishing and Quality
- Execute finishing and fabrication tasks required to complete work accurately and on time
- Catch, report, and fix issues early to avoid wasted material, lost time, or missed deadlines
- Maintain strong attention to detail across production, finishing, packaging, and readiness for next steps
- Follow production standards that protect consistency, quality, and speed
- Team Execution
- Communicate laterally with the Operations/Project Coordinator to keep work moving cleanly
- Train and task future Production Assistant hires as the team grows
- Stay ahead of the next step instead of waiting to be told what to do
- Bring urgency, reliability, and follow-through to the floor every day
What Success Looks Like
Production moves fast, cleanly, and predictably. Machines stay running, jobs are completed with minimal mistakes, and the floor remains organized and proactive rather than reactive or clogged.
Requirements
- Print production experience with relevant machines, software, and fabrication/finishing techniques, or experience in high-volume, short-run custom manufacturing with multiple machines and frequent setups
- High attention to detail
- Enjoys hands-on work
- Technical mind for understanding machine behavior and production flow
- Strong sense of urgency and bias toward getting things done
- Ability to work on your feet for a full 8-hour shift
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- Ability to operate machinery safely with required PPE
- Reliable, consistent attendance

Pay
$20–$25 per hour depending on fit and experience
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Minimal overtime expected, though scattered early, late, or weekend work is possible when needed based on project scheduling.
