About the role

Microchip Technology Inc. is currently looking for positive and productive people who love to work in a team with people who care about each other and are passionate about the work that they do. We are hiring full-time Production Specialists at our facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the essential protocol for the cleanroom including the smock requirements.
  • Operate the machines (or “tools”) that manufacture silicon wafers to make a large variety of different computer chips.
  • Check and qualify tools and run engineering experiments to ensure that equipment and processes are running within specified limits.
  • Communicate with the appropriate people when equipment and processes do not meet specified limits or are not working properly.
  • Help diversify your skill set and be able to help your team wherever the work is most needed.
  • Develop the knowledge and expertise to help your team meet production goals.
  • Share your knowledge, teach, and train others as needed so they can learn to successfully operate these toolsets as well.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer, math and reading comprehension skills.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • The ability to follow detailed work specifications and instructions for each piece of equipment, while also meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain and exhibit positive and productive attitudes and behavior with others.
  • Willingness to participate in building a positive culture and contribute to a pleasant work environment.
  • The ability to work on multiple different tasks throughout the day by focusing on one task at a time and paying careful attention to detail until completed, then quickly moving on to the next task.
  • Working across designated areas of the cleanroom with the related machinery.
  • Prior success working individually and in a team environment.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Availability to work a defined schedule assigned to you.
  • Adaptability to change and a willingness to do whatever is needed for the team to be successful.
  • Is a continuous learner and desires to enhance his/her skills and knowledge.
  • Produces quality work, takes the job seriously, and displays good work habits.
  • Takes the initiative to stay busy, work hard, and be productive.
  • Ability to wear and work in a cleanroom suit and PPE for the full shift.
  • Ability to bend at waist, carry, climb, crouch, feel, foot controls, fumes or odors, handle, hear, kneel, lift, noise and/or vibration, other, pull, push, reach, see, stoop, talk, work alone, and work around others.

Preferred

  • Prior production experience in a cleanroom environment is not required but is desirable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand 95%, walk 90%, sit 5%.
  • Must also be able to carry and lift 6lbs, and push and pull up to 85 lbs on wheels.
