Production Specialist (Day Shift)
About the role
Microchip Technology Inc. is currently looking for positive and productive people who love to work in a team with people who care about each other and are passionate about the work that they do. We are hiring full-time Production Specialists at our facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Learn the essential protocol for the cleanroom including the smock requirements.
- Operate the machines (or “tools”) that manufacture silicon wafers to make a large variety of different computer chips.
- Check and qualify tools and run engineering experiments to ensure that equipment and processes are running within specified limits.
- Communicate with the appropriate people when equipment and processes do not meet specified limits or are not working properly.
- Help diversify your skill set and be able to help your team wherever the work is most needed.
- Develop the knowledge and expertise to help your team meet production goals.
- Share your knowledge, teach, and train others as needed so they can learn to successfully operate these toolsets as well.
Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer, math and reading comprehension skills.
- Proficiency in written and oral communication.
- The ability to follow detailed work specifications and instructions for each piece of equipment, while also meeting deadlines.
- Maintain and exhibit positive and productive attitudes and behavior with others.
- Willingness to participate in building a positive culture and contribute to a pleasant work environment.
- The ability to work on multiple different tasks throughout the day by focusing on one task at a time and paying careful attention to detail until completed, then quickly moving on to the next task.
- Working across designated areas of the cleanroom with the related machinery.
- Prior success working individually and in a team environment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Availability to work a defined schedule assigned to you.
- Adaptability to change and a willingness to do whatever is needed for the team to be successful.
- Is a continuous learner and desires to enhance his/her skills and knowledge.
- Produces quality work, takes the job seriously, and displays good work habits.
- Takes the initiative to stay busy, work hard, and be productive.
- Ability to wear and work in a cleanroom suit and PPE for the full shift.
- Ability to bend at waist, carry, climb, crouch, feel, foot controls, fumes or odors, handle, hear, kneel, lift, noise and/or vibration, other, pull, push, reach, see, stoop, talk, work alone, and work around others.
Preferred
- Prior production experience in a cleanroom environment is not required but is desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand 95%, walk 90%, sit 5%.
- Must also be able to carry and lift 6lbs, and push and pull up to 85 lbs on wheels.
