About the role

We are looking for a talented Production Scheduling Coordinator - Level III to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for our Cummins Inc. facility in North Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver reliable, customer-focused production schedules by aligning demand, sales forecasts, capacity, and new business opportunities under minimal supervision.
  • Optimize end-to-end material flow by coordinating raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods strategies with Materials, Operations, and Customer Service.
  • Support a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to HSE standards, reporting incidents or hazards, and actively participating in required training.
  • Enable on-time delivery by creating realistic daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules and managing approved changes within established time fences.
  • Minimize production risk by proactively identifying and addressing constraints such as downtime, material shortages, bottlenecks, and routing or kitting issues.
  • Drive schedule attainment by analyzing performance data, communicating effectively with cross-functional partners, and holding Logistics and Operations teams accountable.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by participating in quality, safety, process, and material flow initiatives while maintaining flexibility to meet evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • Leverage the materials planning system as the primary tool to balance supply and demand, resolve exception messages through root cause analysis, and support informed decision-making.
  • Manage part change control activities by evaluating and implementing engineering changes while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory and protecting customer delivery commitments.
  • Translate master production and demand plans into effective capacity strategies by identifying constraints, evaluating options, and negotiating schedule or resource adjustments to meet ATP commitments.
  • Establish and maintain a valid master production schedule, interpret materials KPIs, and balance trade-offs to improve operational and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience in an equivalent field such as materials planning, production scheduling, manufacturing, or inventory control.
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret production, inventory, and scheduling data.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and/or planning tools, with experience managing schedules or work orders in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations, materials, and leadership teams.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or associate degree required; bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or engineering preferred.
