About the Role
This is a 2nd shift position (2:55pm–11pm) focused on supporting production operations while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company policies outlined in the employee handbook, TS 16949, and ISO 14001 instructions.
- Ensure compliance with PPE policies and 5S principles.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all production-related jobs, requirements, and standard work as directed by supervisors or team leaders.
- Foster a positive team environment, prioritizing team success over individual interests and building morale toward shared goals.
Safety
- Incorporate safety principles into daily activities for self and others.
- Use safe procedures and standard work consistently.
- Ensure all equipment and machinery are operational and in good working order.
- Understand and apply lockout/tagout procedures for machines and grinders.
Quality & Customer Focus
- Review and communicate quality alerts and customer concerns to the team.
- Participate in Fast Response actions to identify and resolve issues.
- Record and document weights, and escalate process adjustments to support staff.
- Maintain knowledge of standard work, materials, tools, and equipment for the work area.
- Perform visual checks to verify labels match container contents.
Daily Routine
- Communicate shift handoff details, including work center activities, to incoming/outgoing team members.
- Review and adhere to proper work methods, standard work, and touch-point inspections.
- Use Plex operations to record production and enter rejects.
- Apply new part identification to containers and print full-quantity labels.
- Replace full containers with empty ones and ensure proper labeling and stamping.
- Coordinate with material handlers for new boxes/containers and verify needs.
- Understand the escalation process for issues.
- Monitor part quality, labeling, weight, and packaging per Plex requirements.
- Encourage safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment (5S principles).
- Gather and analyze information for problem-solving and lead/participate in improvement initiatives.
- Support ongoing continuous improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, and other documents.
- Preferred: Basic computer skills.
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude; ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Physical Requirements
- Perform basic life functions, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
- Possess visual acuity to operate equipment, inspect work, and review details for accuracy and thoroughness.
