About the role
Our client, a leader in chemical manufacturing, is seeking a dedicated and innovative Production Reliability Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the Operations Department supporting manufacturing and process improvement initiatives, you will bring your expertise, enthusiasm, and problem-solving skills to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and quality. Responsibilities
- Identify and implement process and procedural improvements to increase capacity, reduce costs, and enhance safety and quality in chemical manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot existing processes to improve operating efficiency and reliability of mechanical and instrumentation systems.
- Oversee capital projects from initial concept through to commissioning, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Develop and refine process equipment specifications, including reactors, agitators, heat exchangers, pumps, and filters, collaborating with vendors and operations teams.
- Lead or participate in safety and process hazard analysis teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience working in a chemical plant environment with mechanical equipment design, troubleshooting, and reliability assessment.
- Proficiency in developing process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and performing mass and energy balances.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform data and statistical analysis to inform decision-making.
- Ability to lead projects through all phases, from design to startup, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
