Production Planning Manager

Crown Holdings, Inc., through its subsidiaries, is a world leader in the metal packaging production process, designing and manufacturing innovative and sustainable metal packaging solutions for clients that include some of the largest and most respected companies in the world. The Beverage Division manufactures packaging for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees, teas, and energy drinks, leading the industry with innovative technologies and offering a large printable surface area, varied sizes, shapes, and decorating options for aluminum cans. The facility is located in Bradley, IL, where it produces standard beverage cans for top consumer product companies. The Production Planning Manager coordinates all production planning activities for manufacturing operations, participating in daily production, inventory, warehousing, and distribution of finished products.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data
• Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments
• Manage volume and manufacturing location changes as needed to meet customer requirements
• Monitor inventories of raw material, work in process, and finished goods in an effort to minimize costs and achieve plant inventory goals
• Oversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability
• Conduct audits for compliance in department standards and practices
• Assure inside sales and plants utilize the ‘system’ through on‑site auditing and clear tracking metrics
• Maintain accurate “needs attention” inventory and implement measures for improvement
• Drive continuous improvement through training and strategic planning
• Perform other job‑related duties as required or assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, operations research, or related area
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, logistics, or materials handling
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
• Approximately
