Production Planner - Shop Floor (Onsite)

What You Will Do

The Shop Floor Planner is responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of work on the production floor in an assembly environment. This role ensures that production schedules are met efficiently and on time, while maintaining alignment with company quality and safety standards. The Shop Floor Planner works closely with cross-functional teams including production, supply chain, quality, and engineering to drive operational excellence and optimize resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret production schedules and customer requirements to develop shop floor work plans
  • Cook up work orders to the production floor, ensuring availability of necessary materials, tools, and resources
  • Monitor work progress and ensure adherence to schedules, making adjustments as needed to meet deadlines
  • Collaborate with supply chain and inventory teams to address material shortages or delays and resolve issues promptly
  • Partner with the quality team to ensure all production activities meet established quality standards
  • Communicate with production supervisors and team leads to prioritize tasks and address bottlenecks or constraints
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and increase productivity
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, production schedules, and resource allocation

Qualifications

  • You Must Have:
    • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
    • A strong understanding of production planning and scheduling principles
    • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software tools
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
    • An analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, etc)
  • We Prefer:
    • Familiarity with SAP ERP
    • APICS/ASCM CPIM or similar certification
    • Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or similar industries
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
