PRODUCTION PLANNER II

About the role
As a Production Planner, you will analyze, plan, organize, and control the flow of production hardware to support scheduling of orders, materials, and services in alignment with customer commitments. Working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT), you will collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, quality, production control, and inventory control to identify and eliminate constraints.
Responsibilities
- Generate and respond to SAP ERP/MRP functionalities in support of operations.
- Maintain periodic production schedules for all associated product families.
- Execute ERP messaging tools to coordinate efforts supporting operational needs.
- Alert program and upper-level management when constraints inhibit product flow.
- Process timely release of shop orders in quantities that support upper-level demand.
- Assist program management with purchase requisitions for materials/services as needed.
- Ensure system lead times are reviewed and adjusted as required.
- Correct system data that results in invalid load, lead time, and schedule outputs.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all IPT team members.
- Participate in meetings, seminars, and presentations as directed by upper management.
- Demonstrate commitment to company objectives for Perfect Delivery, Perfect Quality, 5S, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and other improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; or 4+ years of experience in a production planning role in lieu of degree.
- APICS training, coursework, or national certification (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of current experience with a computerized ERP/MRP or equivalent system.
- Minimum 3 years as a Planner/Scheduler with a manufacturing company, preferably aerospace.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace/defense, utilizing "Lean" concepts.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Applications, including Excel and pivot tables.
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings or blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and controls.
- Self-motivated with a drive to achieve results.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must meet export control compliance requirements; all applicants must be "U.S. persons" under ITAR (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee).
