Production Planner

Responsibilities

• Preparing the Production Plan based off forecast requirements and company inventory guidelines.
• Analyzing and forecasting material requirements for JIT deliveries.
• Placing orders with approved vendors, expediting the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining inventory levels within prescribed goals.
• Creating, releasing, and routing work orders for production.
• Evaluating and scheduling the transportation of all outbound loads for both domestic and international shipments.
• Providing adequate lead time for carrier assignments and maximizing full truck loads to control cost.
• Communicating with and providing guidance to shipping/receiving area and preparing shipping paperwork as necessary.
• Supporting other tasks as assigned related to the supply chain function and inventory.
• Utilizing lean principles to achieve continuous improvement of the planning and scheduling process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in Operations or Supply Chain Management, or 2 years equivalent experience.
• Exposure and/or experience with production scheduling techniques and methodologies.
• Tier 1 automotive supply chain experience preferred.
• Significant experience with Microsoft Office required.
• MRP knowledge and APICS certification preferred.
