Essential Functions
- Develops and maintains supply plan and finite production schedule based on S&OP demand forecast, production capacity and current stock on hand inventory.
- Works closely with Procurement to ensure raw material and purchasing requirements are adequate based on forecasted needs.
- Enters and maintains intended production plan in the ERP system and maintains dates, routings and BOM selection accuracy for planned orders.
- Serves as planning representative in site daily operations meetings. Leads weekly meeting with Sales and Operations to ensure production schedule maintains alignment with both Customer and Operational needs.
- Owns Master Data related to production planning within ERP system, such as BOMs, Item Engineering Data, and Sales Demand Forecasts.
- Reviews demand signals through MRP to ensure accuracy. Resolves discrepancies as needed.
- Performs data analysis and aggregation to measure and report on Planning KPIs.
- Involves and assists in monthly S&OP process as needed.
- Schedules Media Fills for Processes and Operators as needed.
- Manages Change Controls, updates to SOPs and other documentation related to planning procedures.
- Affords assistance in strategic production planning and capacity analysis.
- Cross-trains the responsible backup and ensures responsibilities are covered when taking time off.
- Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance production efficiency.
- Serves as backup to Production Planning Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience & Necessary Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required.
- Certificates in APICS preferred.
- 3+ years of production planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1-2 years of related experience in pharmaceutical and cGMP manufacturing preferred.
- Possesses analytical, planning, risk-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and a strong results orientation.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
- Experienced with multiple ERP/MRP systems and concepts, preferably Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
- Proficient written, verbal and oral English communication skills are required.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools including Outlook, Microsoft, and Excel is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds periodically.
