What you will be doing:
- Produce and manage production schedules and work orders to ensure that production deadlines are met for shipments
- Adjust schedules as needed based on production delays, equipment maintenance, raw material delays or changes in demand
- Create the master schedule based on customer demand and forecast
- Establish good working relationships with Production and Planning Supervisors on production status, potential delays, and any other issues affecting production
- Communicate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of raw materials
- Responsible for inventory management of stock, non-stock materials, and aging inventory
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production planning process and implement solutions to improve productivity, efficiency and reduce costs
- Assemble facts and data to make an informed decision on balancing production work centers, production schedules, material availability/lead times along with customer requirements
The skills and experience you need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree Preferred – Preferably Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, or Engineering
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Comprehension of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) principles / systems
- Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management
- Ability to understand and determine workflow and capacity limitations
- Other: Strong verbal and written communication skills required, problem-solving skills required, ability to multitask, prioritize, and act with a sense of urgency, strong Excel skills preferred, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
