Key Responsibilities
- Develop, oversee, and manage complex production schedules for specialized products, ensuring optimal resource allocation and alignment with business objectives.
- Lead cross-functional planning meetings to ensure alignment between production, procurement, and inventory management teams.
- Analyze long-term production data and forecasts to anticipate future demand, identifying risks and opportunities for capacity planning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of production planning processes and reduce lead times.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior planners, fostering their development and ensuring consistent scheduling practices across the team.
- Support the development and implementation of advanced planning tools, processes, and KPIs to improve production visibility and control.
- Evaluate resource needs, labor capacity, and material availability for long-term production plans, and recommend actions to mitigate risks.
- Prepare and present production performance reports to senior management, highlighting trends, bottlenecks, and actionable insights for process improvement.
- Collaborate with the operations and engineering teams to support new product introductions and special projects, ensuring that production plans are adapted to accommodate changes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality control policies within the production planning process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field or relevant experience required.
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related function in a manufacturing production environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex production data and develop strategic plans.
- Demonstrated expertise in ERP/MRP systems, with preference for Microsoft Dynamics and/or SAP.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in production planning and scheduling.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term production strategies.
