Production Planner Analyst

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term production plans based on demand forecasts, capacity, and inventory targets
  • Create and release production schedules to meet customer requirements and internal service levels
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address changes in demand, material availability, or capacity constraints
  • Cook up and coordinate with manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure execution of production plans
  • Analyze production performance, capacity utilization, inventory levels, and schedule adherence
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improving production efficiency and delivery performance
  • Prepare and present reports and dashboards
  • Support data-driven decisions through scenario planning and “what-if” analysis
  • Inventory & Materials Coordination
  • Collaborate with procurement and material planners to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components
  • Balance production output with inventory objectives to minimize excess stock and shortages
  • Support inventory accuracy through planning best practices and system discipline
  • Systems & Process Improvement
  • Maintain planning data in ERP/MRP systems to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and capacity management
  • Aid in the development and documentation of standard planning processes and procedures

Job Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s degree in business, or related field
  • Skills & Relevant Work Experience: 2–5 years of experience in production planning, or manufacturing operation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in a manufacturing or regulated production environment
  • Experience using data visualization tools (Power BI or similar)
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) a plus
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Data-driven decision-making mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
