About the role
Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific portions of the product for guidance of production workers. Plans detail operations from blueprints, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases. Determines the need for tooling and makes recommendations for the design and planning of required tools. Prepares shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinates with schedulers to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements. Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.
Responsibilities

- Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.
- Updates and tracks 3 Card progress in SAP structural weld database for trade's accountability.
- Reports progress and findings of 3 Cards to trades and construction supervisors for completion of compartments.
- Tracks Structural Weld Repair Cards (NN1973); Lifting Pad Inspection, Test, and Records (NN3935, NN3935-1 & NN4376); Foundation Cards, and verifies NDT completion of QID NQC certifications (NN9081).
- Reviews CVN structural construction/overhaul drawings, product structure trees, SAP production control notes, Bill of Materials (SWiMS), 3D modeling (TcVis), and packages for fab assembly and NDT requirements. Enters information into SAP or e2058 structural weld databases to initiate, print NN2058s/NN3927s records, distribute, track and certify NDT completion.
- Determines and lays-off Ultrasonic Testing site locations on Mylar unitized drawings or on TcVis models.
- Lay-off and inspect installation welds for manufacturing and assembly of base-A units, super-lifts, and carrier dry dock construction.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal; work well with others; work under pressure and independently; follow through with assigned tasks promptly and adapt to changing work schedules, and work assignments/location.
- Work knowledge of CVN Ship lay-out, Construction and Nomenclature. Comprehend and interpret NDT specifications and drawing requirements; comprehend and interpret Quality Assurance (QA) procedures (QAI).
- Practical experience of Fitting, Welding and/or Inspection of these process lanes is a plus.
- Pays attention to details and has a First Time Quality mindset.
- Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal; work well with others; work under pressure and independently; follow through with assigned tasks promptly and adapt to changing work schedules, and work assignments/location.
- Work knowledge of CVN Ship lay-out, Construction and Nomenclature. Comprehend and interpret NDT specifications and drawing requirements; comprehend and interpret Quality Assurance (QA) procedures (QAI).

Requirements
- Associate's Degree and 1 years of relevant experience
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
Qualifications
- Certifying compartment NDT completion utilizing the 3 Card (NN1641-3) process, using construction area information, unitized and C&A drawings and procedures.
