Production & Packaging Technician

About the Role

Coastal Cocktails, the canned cocktail production division of Tarnish Truth Distilling Company, is hiring Production & Packaging Technicians for our Virginia Beach production warehouse. Reporting to the Production & Packaging Supervisor, this hands-on, floor-based role supports the day-to-day operation of our RTD canning facility, setting up, running, breaking down, and cleaning production equipment every day, plus supporting equipment maintenance, shipping and receiving, and general upkeep of the facility. This is not a desk job: you'll be on your feet on a fast-paced team producing 20,000–30,000 canned cocktails a day, with real, proven opportunities to grow into supervisor, manager, and leadership roles as the company expands.

What You'll Do

• Assist in canning operations, including setup and breakdown of packaging lines, box building, pack-off, and walk-in cooler organization
• Learn to operate the canning line and associated equipment (the line runs 5–6 connected machines, with technicians typically covering one or two machines each)
• Learn basic equipment troubleshooting - know how to stop a machine safely and communicate issues down the line to teammates
• Clean, organize, and maintain all packaging equipment, inventory, and raw materials
• Perform general janitorial work - cleaning stainless steel parts, sweeping and scrubbing floors, and other daily upkeep
• Assist with shipping and receiving
• Operate a forklift to safely load, unload, and move material in the work area per manufacturer's instructions
• Build and stack finished product on pallets, especially when starting out
• Support preventative maintenance during downtime - disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling equipment
• Track inventory of cans, cartons, and labels to keep production moving

What We're Looking For

• Experience in a brewery, food/beverage manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, or warehouse/distribution environment
• Comfortable in a physically active, hands-on production floor role - this is a floor position, not a supervisory or office role
• Able to work around machinery in a warehouse environment that runs hot in summer months
• Basic technical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation
• Forklift certification a plus - if you're not already certified, we'll get you certified on the job, since forklift operation is part of this role

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand, walk, bend, and move for a full shift
• Able to regularly lift and carry product and materials (up to ~50 lbs)
• Able to work in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures
