About the Role
Winpak Heat Seal is seeking motivated, safety-focused individuals to join our manufacturing team in Pekin, Illinois. We are hiring for Die Cut Utility/Material Handler and Printing Press Utility positions. These hands-on roles are ideal for those who enjoy working with equipment, maintaining production efficiency, and contributing to a team that creates innovative packaging solutions.
Available Opportunities
- Die Cut Utility / Material Handler - Starting Wage: $19.66/hour
- Printing Press Utility - Starting Wage: $21.47/hour
Responsibilities
Depending on the position, your duties may include:
- Supporting machine operators and ensuring efficient production.
- Staging and moving raw materials, printed stock, packaging materials, and finished goods.
- Assisting with roll changes, press setup, and installation of production components.
- Operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Packaging, palletizing, labeling, weighing, and moving finished products.
- Cleaning and maintaining production equipment and work areas.
- Handling scrap and recycling materials according to plant procedures.
- Following job specifications, material codes, and production requirements.
- Using computer systems to locate and stage materials.
- Adhering to safety, quality, GMP, and food safety requirements.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean, organized work area.
- Communicating with operators, supervisors, and team members to ensure safe and efficient production.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working around production equipment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures, work instructions, and cleaning protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Willingness to wear required PPE.
- Open availability to work any assigned shift or schedule, including weekends and overtime, based on business needs.
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing, production, or machine operation.
- Printing, press operations, or assembly.
- Warehouse, distribution, or material handling.
- Maintenance, mechanical, or skilled trades.
- Automotive or industrial environments.
- Construction or equipment operation.
- Food production, commercial kitchen, or food processing.
- Quality inspection or quality control.
