Production Operator (Rotating shift)

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Lives the Owens Corning Safety Stand and meets all safety requirements.
• Notifies supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss or on-the-job injury.
• Participates in safety, quality, autonomous maintenance, TPM and housekeeping programs.
• Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adhere to regulations.
• Communicates safety concerns and equipment problems to appropriate personnel.
• Communicates with line section operators to ensure immediate action for product out of spec.
• Inspects vehicles before use and throughout shift.
• Uses TPM initiatives to improve equipment performance and identify learning opportunities.
• Works to achieve zero injuries, defects, and losses.
• Maintains DM and Step Boards during PM days.
• Performs quality checks, maintains control panels, and reports unusual material issues.
• Updates layout board and evaluates finished product for proper weight.
• Operates various machines including Palletizers, Shingle wrappers, Stretch wrappers, Banding equipment, and Powered industrial vehicles.
• Loads and stacks rewraps, accurately reports scrap and seconds, adjusts guide plates and speed, and covers front-end employee outages.
• Visibly verifies paperwork, inserts cores, manages seconds, scrap, and trash, monitors equipment, listens for alarms, and responds appropriately.
• Assists in lace-up, product change, and color change procedures.
• Performs preventive maintenance on down days and assists the shift mechanic during machine outages.

Essential Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Remains drug-free.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, fiberglass, wet environments, extreme temperatures, sounds or noise levels, hearing protection, applicable PPE, colors, heights, lifting, pushing, pulling, handling, controlling, feeding, or feeling objects, tools, or product.
• Ability to work from heights, squat, bend at waist and knees, stand for up to 12 hours, and move freely.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 40 lbs. repetitively.
• Ability to work flexible rotating shift schedules and mandatory overtime.
