Production Operator Packaging -1st Shift
About the role
We are looking for a Packaging Production Operator – 1st shift to join our rapidly growing company in the global pet food sector. As a key player in our award-winning, state-of-the-art pet food production facility in Auburn, Kentucky, you will operate equipment safely and efficiently within the Packaging department, reporting to the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and the Environment.
- Maintain a neat and organized work area according to established corporate policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Verify that empty packaging specifications and construction are suitable for applicable product and production runs.
- Conduct visual inspections to control and remove any damaged or incorrect packaging from production.
- Identify food-safety concerns and perform appropriate actions to resolve them.
- Operate lift trucks (sit and stand) as required.
- Assist in conducting daily inventory of all bulk and liquid ingredients, recording bin checks, regular bulk inventory, and part bag counts.
- Operate heavy machinery, including tote massagers, grinding equipment for fresh meats and ingredients, and automated/manual packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Develop and maintain successful professional working relationships with relevant production department staff through good communication practices.
- Participate in annual physical inventory as determined by the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent military experience, or a college degree is preferred.

Pay
The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Eligible employees may also receive variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in a 401k plan, and paid time off.
