About the role
The Production Operator plays a crucial role in achieving operational excellence at Bakelite. You'll ensure high-quality standards, contributing to the organization's ability to meet production goals and enhance overall operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading raw materials and finished goods according to customer and chemical specifications.
- Operating and monitoring chemical reaction processes to manufacture polymer resins, industrial chemicals, and raw materials.
- Maintaining equipment and performing minor troubleshooting to optimize production and minimize downtime.
- Using computers to document data related to shipping, receiving, and manufacturing processes.
- Working in various environments, including outside weather conditions, industrial settings, at heights, and in confined spaces.
- Adhering to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintaining productivity, safety, and compliance with physical and safety requirements, and adhering to a rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Experience operating a forklift.
- At least two (2) years of continuous employment in the last four (4) years.
- One (1) year or more of experience in an industrial, warehouse, military, farming, construction, mechanical, or production environment.
- One (1) year or more of experience using a computer or tablet for data recording and manufacturing processes documentation.
- One (1) year or more of experience in the chemical or refinery industries preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
