Production Operator - Lufkin, TX

About the role

The Production Operator plays a crucial role in achieving operational excellence at Bakelite. You'll ensure high-quality standards, contributing to the organization's ability to meet production goals and enhance overall operational efficiency. Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading raw materials and finished goods according to customer and chemical specifications.
• Operating and monitoring chemical reaction processes to manufacture polymer resins, industrial chemicals, and raw materials.
• Maintaining equipment and performing minor troubleshooting to optimize production and minimize downtime.
• Using computers to document data related to shipping, receiving, and manufacturing processes.
• Working in various environments, including outside weather conditions, industrial settings, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Adhering to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintaining productivity, safety, and compliance with physical and safety requirements, and adhering to a rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• At least two (2) years of continuous employment in the last four (4) years.
• One (1) year or more of experience in an industrial, warehouse, military, farming, construction, mechanical, or production environment.
• One (1) year or more of experience using a computer or tablet for data recording and manufacturing processes documentation.
• One (1) year or more of experience in the chemical or refinery industries preferred.

Qualifications
