About the role

We are hiring a Production Operator I in North Las Vegas, NV. The position involves assisting in the cylinder requalification and repair process, moving industrial gas cylinders, and supporting compliance with codes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the cylinder requalification and repair process
  • Manually and/or with the aid of material handling equipment, move industrial gas cylinders to different areas of the plant and loads/unloads cylinders from delivery trucks
  • Adhere to and support compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards established by Federal, State and other applicable agencies or regulating bodies
  • Operate forklift, hand-truck, pallet-jack, chain hoist, etc. to load/unload compressed and liquid industrial gas cylinders to and from delivery trucks to filling and storage areas
  • Replace pallet straps as necessary
  • Maintain accurate load sheets and distribute to drivers at the end of shift
  • Support the team by reporting any equipment or facility defects to your supervisor
  • Help keep the team safe by ensuring any accident or injury is promptly reported
  • Perform cylinder cleaning, painting and general maintenance when needed

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a drug-free environment
  • Able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment
  • One (1) year related experience and/or training preferred
  • Customer service oriented and able to interact with fellow Associates in a professional manner
  • Efficient in a fast-paced environment and detail-oriented with good organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, MSDS, and procedure manuals
  • Possess basic mathematic and written skills

Pay

The hourly base pay range for this position in Nevada is $19.00 - $22.00. Please note that the hourly base pay information is a general guideline only. Airgas considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Schedule

Shift: 4pm - 12:30am, Monday - Friday
