Production Operator

About the role

This position will be assigned to one of our three Steel facilities in Stark County, Ohio (Gambrinus, Harrison or Faircrest Steel plants).

Responsibilities

• Operating radio and cab cranes along with ability to drive mobile equipment from plant to plant.
• Loading and unloading material.
• Cleaning and janitorial duties.
• Shoveling and cleaning scale / sludge from equipment.
• Cutting scrap.
• Assisting operating personnel in the performance of their duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to drive/operate mobile equipment/company vehicles including cranes (radio or cab-controlled), pick-up trucks, and/or forklifts.
• Ability to observe and be aware of issues, actions, or factors in the work environment that may affect personal or company safety.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; rarely lifting between 50-75 lbs.
• Frequent walking, standing, bending and kneeling.

Preferred Requirements

• Previous manufacturing or industrial work experience.
• Previous experience in forklift and crane operation.

Pay

• Starting at $25.77 per hour with a raise to $32.21 upon completion of a 120 working day probationary period.
• Opportunity to bid into higher paying positions after 120 working days.

Schedule

• Rotational and flexible shift.
• May include holidays.

• Manufacturing work environment may include exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• On-the-job training is provided.
