About the role
The Production Operator 1 is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various production equipment and executing manufacturing processes to produce high-quality industrial gases and related products, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production equipment, including compressors, pumps, distillation columns, and filling systems, according to established procedures.
- Perform routine checks, inspections, and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
- Execute production orders, follow batch records, and accurately document all production activities and data.
- Monitor process parameters, interpret gauges and controls, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain product specifications.
- Load and unload raw materials, cylinders, and finished products, utilizing forklifts or other material handling equipment safely.
- Conduct quality control checks and sample products to ensure adherence to established standards.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and report major issues to maintenance or supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in a production operator role.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret operating manuals, safety instructions, and technical documents.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.
- Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
