Production Operative

ADEY, the market leader in the provision of residential water treatment products for closed loop heating and cooling systems in the UK, is looking for a Production Operative to join the team. Part of the Genuit Groups’ Climate Management Solutions (CMS) business unit, ADEY has ambitious growth plans to continue protecting the world's heating and cooling systems, to have a positive impact on the environment and people's lives.
About the role
As a Production Operative, you are responsible for the assembly of filters, Sure-stop, sub-assemblies, or the Chemical area. Production operators coordinate and assemble various filters on an hourly/daily basis to ensure products are provided safely, while meeting or exceeding hourly production targets and required quality standards. You will work in close partnership with the Line Leader and other production operatives to ensure timely production of products. A large part of the role involves working in the Filters, Sure-stop, or Chems area to produce finished goods for customers.
Responsibilities
- Work in any filter cell, typically in a team of up to 4 people, to maximise productivity.
- Complete the assembly of any filter job planned in a given cell on the production line.
- Communicate with colleagues or the Line Lead if any issues arise.
- Understand how all equipment and test machines work; promptly report defective equipment or parts to avoid downtime.
- Ensure you are at your workstation at shift start and leave at shift end at the correct time.
- Take allocated break times when required.
- Record production numbers and serial numbers hourly if required.
- Clean down the production line thoroughly 10 minutes at the end of the shift and after each order if moving to another line.
- Work in any of the production cells: Filter, Sure-stop, Sub-assembly, or Chemical areas as required.
- Perform blending and mixing in the Chemical area.
- Achieve set targets in the given production areas.
- Train and operate in 3 out of 4 operations in the Filter cells.
- Load or unload cells/lines as instructed by the Line Lead.
Quality
- Be aware of any Quality Alerts.
- Report all defects to the Line Lead to maintain accurate inventory and quality records.
- Be accountable for the quality of the product produced and rigorously follow quality procedures.
- Suggest ways to improve product quality via ECRs or Continuous Improvement suggestions.
Health & Safety
- Promptly report any accidents and near misses to the Line Lead or Supervisor in line with ADEY policy.
- Wear specified PPE, Hi-Vis, safety shoes, or safety glasses when applicable in production areas.
- Adhere to objectives and H&S policy where required.
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are always followed; immediately address safety concerns.
Requirements
- Experience in a production/assembly factory is desired but not essential.
- Planning and organization skills to run and monitor the production line.
- Attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality.
- Ability to communicate clearly with your Line Lead/Supervisor.
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
- Ability to work in a logical, systematic manner.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Schedule
- AM Shift: 05:30–13:45 (Mon–Thu) & 05:30–12:30 (Fri)
- PM Shift: 14:00–23:00 (Mon–Thu) & 13:00–17:00 (Fri)
